Thanks for clarifying, that makes sense, i read another post from a Evohome user who got the single zone working by creating a completely new zone (for me I called it Hall 2) and then rebound the HR92 (after a factory reset) and then single zone thermo, this seems to have worked, I then deleted the ...

Thanks, no the covers are just MDF so should not influence the signal, I did notice when I rebind the sensor (reset first to unbound state) that the Evohome zone config asks me to bind Actuator(s).
What qualifies as an actuator - the TRV controller HR92 or am I confusing this with something else ...
