Re: Hot water temperature overshoots

Hi Richard, You asked elsewhere if I had seen any comms errors from the hot water sensor - at the time I had not however yesterday morning I received a comms error for the hot water sensor for the first time. :? The hot water was scheduled to come on at 7:30, by chance I happened to be up and in the ...

Re: Hot water temperature overshoots

Hi Richard, I was going to wait a full week but it's been 5 days now without any problems so I think the battery contact tension behind the PCB was indeed the issue, glad it could be fixed so easily. :) Here is a graph of the last 5 days and as you can see the temperature only just peaks slightly ...

Re: Using seperate DHCP server

Synology NAS's run Linux and I'm pretty sure you can log in to a command line with SSH, in that case it should be possible to find and view the system log files which would include the DHCP server.

I'd check the Synology support forums to find exactly how to do that.

Re: Using seperate DHCP server

I assume other wireless devices can acquire an IP address OK ?

Are there any debug logs you can check on the DHCP server to see if any DHCP requests are being received from the Evohome ?

Re: Hot water temperature overshoots

How is this going Simon, any joy? No overshoots yet since I adjusted the battery contacts behind the board, so far it has done 12 reheats without exceeding 51 degres but its a bit too early to tell as the problem wasn't happening every day. Here's a graph of the last week or so showing four ...

Re: HR92 and room temperature

How do you get your temperature graphs? Please expand...? There are only unofficial 3rd party methods to graph room temperatures and set points currently. I actually run two different systems on a Raspberry Pi, one is the evohome-munin plugin: https://github.com/Infern1/evohome-munin The other is ...

Re: Hot water temperature overshoots

Have you tried the insertion sensor Simon? You can wedge this against the tank behind the strap on sensor to test it. The reason I ask is that we have had a couple of faulty strap on sensors returned to us. The ohm values of the 10K sensors in relation to the temperature are here (page 3 - https ...

Re: Economy Mode

You cant enable Eco mode separately for individual zones - it's all or nothing. So it's probably Optimal Stop turning down those zones early - it will turn them down to the following set point if it believes it can do so now without the temperature dropping more than 0.5 degrees below the current ...

Re: HR92 and room temperature

This is a topic of some interest to me and first of all I'll say that the accuracy of the HR92 is much better than any mechanical wax pellet TRV operating on the same radiator in the same room. Period. Part of this is measurement accuracy, part of it is the ability to more precisely and ...

Re: Issue with Vailant Opentherm

When you use the manual "filling/draining" lever on the valve you are only opening the valve about half way or probably even a bit less than half way. Only the motor can open the valve fully. This will cause a significant restriction in the flow rate through the radiators, and might cause enough of ...
