Thanks Richard, appreciate all your help!
Should get time tomorrow to install the new relay. Reading the manual ahead of time, woud I be right in assuming the CS92 is okay as its bound to the evohome controller? I should only need to bind the new BDR91

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
The replacement finally arrived!
Once I get it fitted, is it a matter of following the instructions in your video just to get them paired up? From what I've read I think it just needs connected to the base unit?

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Ah nightmare! If you need a replacement we do a BDR91 equivalent here (https://thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/product/wireless-relay-box-bdr91-replacement-replaces-all-pre-2021-honeywell-bdr91/). BDR91's don't normally fail without good reason, so make sure all electrical checks are done prior to ...

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Thanks, glad to hear about the batteries and the distances.
I gave them a call, we didnt get very far!
It looks like the BDR91 relay for the hot water is faulty, no lights come on by pressing and holding the button.
Going to take the cover off and check its still receiving power okay

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Yeahhh, cant believe I forgot about that now  In regards to the battery seemingly being dead, this means I won't be able to move it from its plugged in location (will be fine when working again as I use the app anyway) but can you see this posing any problems when trying to rebind the devices ...

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Spoke to the plumber who installed the system, he said the gist of the system is "oil fired boiler with a 2 port motorised valve conntected to the relay box for hot water control of the cylinder" asked him if the boiler control should be set to none and he said no,it should be set to wireless relay ...

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
If you only have 1x BDR91, I don't fully understand how this can be working (properly)? What boiler do you have? 1x BDR91 comes with the evohome controller (https://thesmartthermostatshop.co.uk/product/honeywell-evohome-connected-thermostat-pack-atp921r3100/) and 1x BDR91 comes with the CS92A ...

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Having just watched the youtube video, I only have one BDR91 (in place of where the old thermostat controls were located) Does this help with the understand of my system? Apologies I can't elaborate further on the actual plumbing setup. If you have a hot water cylinder you must have two? Theres ...

Re: Comms fault hot water valve actuator
Could I ask why I need to say 'NONE' under 'BOILER CONTROL'? Just for my understanding Because you don't have a combi boiler. :geek: I have just made the video available. I didn't realise the video had been made private. Thanks, can see it now. In regards to the boiler control, i saw this in ...
